They are engineered to operate in conventional and addressable operation modes, offering unparalleled versatility for a wide range of applications. In addressable mode, each device is equipped with intelligent communication capabilities, allowing it to report its precise location and status directly to the control panel.

The appliances provide a wide array of field-configurable audible and visual settings. The light intensity (candela) can be adjusted on-site to 15, 30, 75, 110, 140, or 177 cd. Additionally, multiple sound patterns are available, each with seven selectable sound output levels. All settings can be conveniently configured via a handheld programmer or directly through the control panel. The strobe appliances produce a flash rate of one flash per second over the regulated voltage range. The temporal tone generated by the horn portion is designed in accordance with ANSI and NFPA 72 for standard emergency evacuation signaling requirements. All Series 2 signaling appliances are designed to be installed on the same installation base as previous Maple Armor appliances, and they are compatible with Series 1 control panels, making them ideal not only for new installations but also for retrofits.

Input Module

The FW811 input module monitors a single contact. The input line is monitored for open line faults and ground faults, and the contact must thus be wired with an end-of-line resistor. It is an intelligent addressable module and takes one address on the Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) or Data Communication Link (DCL) of the fire alarm control panel. The FW811 is a UL/ULC listed device according to UL864 and ULC-S527 for Fire Protective Signaling Systems for indoor use and FM. The type of input contact is configurable.

– Alarm Causing: An alarm causing input will produce an ALARM event. The device red LED will

indicate the alarm condition by turning it on steady. A return to the normal condition will be ignored and the device LED indicator will remain latched in the red alarm condition until a reset command has been received.

– Supervisory/Trouble/Monitor Causing: By changing the FW811 input module functions from itsattribute interface on FACP, it can be configured to be a supervisory, trouble, or monitor signal, which will produce a SUPERVISORY, TROUBLE, or MONITOR event. The device red LED will indicate the event condition by turning on steady. The supervisory and monitor are latched/non-latched selectable. A return to the normal condition will cause the event to disappear and the device LED indicator will return to the normal condition if the supervisory/monitor is non- latched. A return to the normal condition will not cause the event to disappear and the device LED indicator will remain in event condition if the supervisory/monitor is latched. The trouble is non-latched.

Input/Output Module

The FW821 input-output module provides one 24VDC output and one feedback input monitor. The input line is monitored for open line faults and ground faults, and the contact must thus be wired with an end-ofline resistor. The output line is monitored for open lines, short-circuit faults, ground faults, and external 24VDC power source loss. It is a UL/ULC listed device according to UL864 and ULC-S527 for Fire Protective Signaling Systems for indoor use.

When the output is activated the device red LED will indicate the event condition by blinking longer. When the feedback is activated the device red LED will indicate the event condition by blinking twice. A return to the normal condition will cause the event to disappear and the device LED indicator will return to blinking every 4 seconds. The FW821 is an intelligent addressable module and takes one address on the Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) or Data Communication Link (DCL) of the fire alarm control panel.

Relay

The FW831 relay module provides two control relay outputs which will be activated simultaneously. When the outputs are activated, the device LED will indicate the event condition by red blinking. A return to normal condition will cause the event to disappear and the device LED indicator will return to the red idle condition. The FW831 is an intelligent addressable module and takes one address on the Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) or Data Communication Link (DCL) of the fire alarm control panel.
